What we keep about you
Very little: the account you sign in with, a record of your sign-ins, and anything you choose to send us. No advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing is ever sold.
Draft. This covers the closed alpha and will be checked by a lawyer before the store opens.
1. Who we are
Gaddr Games makes LostVale and the Ragnavoxel engine and runs these websites, the launcher and the account service. Gaddr Games is a business registered under an assumed name (DBA) in Texas, USA. We decide what happens to the information below. Write to [email protected] about anything on this page.
2. Your account
Accounts are by invitation during the alpha. When we invite you, or you sign in, we keep:
- Your email address, to sign you in, send your invitation and password resets, and reach you about the alpha.
- Your name and username, as you give them, shown back to you in the launcher and on these sites.
- Your password, stored only as a one-way hash we can't read, and any second factor you add.
- Your confirmation that you're 18 or older and accept the alpha agreement and this policy: when, which version, and from which browser. It's our record that you agreed.
- A record of your sign-ins: when, from which browser or app, and the network address it came from. We use it to keep your account secure and to look into misuse.
We use these only to run your account and the alpha. We need them to provide the service you asked for, and the sign-in records are kept for our legitimate interest in keeping accounts safe.
3. These websites
- When you're signed in, the site sets one cookie, an http-only session cookie that lets it check your account before a download. It lasts 12 hours, or until you sign out.
- Your browser also keeps your name and sign-in status in its own storage, so pages can show who's signed in. Signing out clears it.
- There are no analytics, advertising or social-media scripts, and no fonts or files are loaded from anyone else. The site doesn't keep a log of the pages you visit.
4. The launcher and the game
- The launcher keeps your sign-in on your own computer, readable only by your user account, and sends it to our server when it checks for and downloads releases.
- The game sends nothing about how you play. Crash logs and bug reports reach us only when you choose to send them, and they hold what you can see in them before you send: the log, your system's details and your description.
5. Where it's kept, and who else sees it
Everything is stored on Gaddr Games' own server, not with a cloud provider. A few services help us run it, and see only what they need for that:
- Cloudflare carries the traffic between you and our server, protects it from attacks, and so sees your network address and the requests you make.
- Our email provider delivers the emails we send you, so it sees your address and those emails.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account, until you ask us to delete it or the alpha ends and you don't stay on.
- Sign-in records, as long as your account exists.
- Nightly backups, which hold all of the above, for 14 days.
- Bug reports, until the problem is fixed and for a reasonable time after.
7. Your choices and rights
You can see and change your name, email and password from your account. Write to [email protected] to ask for a copy of what we hold (in a form you can take elsewhere), to correct it, to delete it all, or to object to how we use it. We'll answer within 30 days, and won't treat you any differently for asking.
These are your rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and other US state laws such as California's (the CCPA as amended by the CPRA), and under the GDPR and UK GDPR if you're in Europe or the UK. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising, we don't process sensitive data, and we don't use your information to profile you or make automated decisions about you.
If we turn down a request, we'll tell you why, and you can appeal by replying to that answer; we'll decide the appeal within 60 days. If you're still unhappy, you can complain to the Texas Attorney General (texasattorneygeneral.gov), your own state's attorney general, or your data protection authority.
8. Age
The alpha is for adults. We don't knowingly keep information about anyone under 18, and we'll delete it if we learn we have.
9. Changes
If this changes, we'll update the date below, and tell you by email first if it changes what we keep or who sees it.
